Probiotic Supplementation May Improve Motor, Non-Motor Symptoms and Depression in Adults with Parkinson’s Disease

Results of the meta-analysis including 11 randomized controlled studies shows improved motor scores (SMD, -0.65; 95% CI -1.11 to -0.19), non-motor scores (SMD, -0.81; 95% CI -1.12 to -0.51), and mental health scores (SMD, -0.72; 95% CI -1.10 to -0.35) in subjects in the probiotic groups compared to the control group.
